Master Robert J. Moran. Master Moran is a 6th degree black belt with over 33 years of experience in the martial arts. In 1998 he was elected to the Martial Arts Masters, Legends & Pioneers Hall of Fame and honored as its Instructor of the Year. Master Moran began his martial arts training at the age of seven by studying judo. Over the years he has studied and earned advanced rank in American Kenpo, Chinese Kenpo, Okinawan Kempo, Kyokushinkai, Shorin-ryu, Ichi-ryu, Arnis Lanada, and Okinawan Kobudo. In the early 1990s he created the Bushido-Zen Kenpo Karate system by blending the best techniques from the arts he had studied. The Bushido-Zen system is not a sport karate system, but rather a very "street-smart" system of self defense. Master Moran
is a founding member and president of the National Institute of Pressure Point
Arts, and the chief instructor of the Bushido-Zen Martial Arts Academy in
Belmont, Massachusetts. Over the years he
has used his pressure point system to survive street confrontations with larger
opponents and several of his students have used pressure points in “no holds
barred” fights. Some of his recent pressure point self defense students
have included
professional martial artists, golden glove boxers, no holds barred fighters, a
professional bounty hunter, a correctional officer, police officers, two federal
agents, and a navy seal. Master Moran has appeared on the cover of Filipino Martial Arts Magazine and has published several articles in Filipino Martial Arts Magazine and Kung Fu Presents the World of Martial Arts magazine.
