Master Lambert

Master Leonard P. Lambert

Master Leonard P. Lambert is an 8th degree black belt in Ichi Ryu Karate and an expert in pressure point fighting. He has been practicing for over 35 years and has taught many students, some of whom have gone on to open their own schools to continue teaching Ichi Ryu.

Master Lambert is currently in the process of completing a book on the art of pressure point fighting.

At the age of 12 he studied Uechi Ryu Karate-do under Sensei Mike Mattson in his Natick, MA dojo. His favorite katas at the time were Sanchin and Kanshiwa. Sensei Mattson taught young Leonard the value of focusing under pressure.

When Master Lambert was 15 he had moved on to study with Zepher Zuwangi-Zulu Warrior. He trained in hand to hand combat, weapons as well as dance. Master Lambert believes that Zepher Zuwangi was the deadliest man he ever knew. At this age Leonard felt that he became old in a hurry and learned the value of speed.

At 17 He was studying again Uechi Ryu Karate with Mike Foster, a combat vet. He learned katas Daini Seisan, and Seirui. Sensei Foster taught Leonard the value of the spirit in combat.

At 34 he trained in Shorin Ryu with Professor Raymond Gonthier, a martial arts hall of famer, who had been instructed in Shorin Ryu by Grandmaster Fuse Kise, himself (Great Grandmaster Hohan Soken's successor). Master Gonthier was a great instructor through which Master Lambert had the chance to study with many other masters. He will be missed.

At 36 he was the secretary and chief instructor of all dojos in The National Institute of Modern Martial Arts (N.I.M.M.A.). Through N.I.M.M.A. he learned the skill of teaching others as well as the theory behind kata. This is where Master Lambert began his research into pressure point theory and techniques.

By the age of 43 Master Lambert had cataloged 148 pressure points and the techniques of attacking these points. He gave his first seminar on pressure points in 1985 and since then he has taught more students than he would like to count.

Master Lambert's approach to teaching is easy to follow and understand. This is to assure that all students are able to correctly identify an opponent's vital points, as well as the appropriate techniques to attack these points.

Master Lambert is currently available to teach pressure point seminars to schools all around the United States.
